Job Description

Salary of $75,000+, market-leading profit-sharing package, full benefits including health, dental, vision, and retirement, and up to $10,000 signing bonus. Iowa Home Consulting is looking for an organized, proactive Remodeling Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day coordination of our residential remodeling operation. This is not a receptionist or basic administrative position. The Remodeling Coordinator sits between the customer, the schedule, the materials, and our field team and is responsible for making sure projects are organized and ready before they reach production. You'll handle the initial client relationship, build and manage the remodeling schedule, coordinate special-order materials, assign work to our Remodelers, and oversee the remodeling team at an operational level. Once a project begins, the assigned Remodeler becomes the homeowner's primary day-to-day contact. Your job is to make sure they have the information, materials, schedule, and support necessary to successfully execute the project. What You'll DoClient Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for remodeling clients before their project begins Guide clients through the transition from approved project to scheduled production Communicate scheduling expectations, upcoming milestones, and pre-project requirements Make sure necessary client decisions and project information are collected before production Set clear expectations for what happens once the project is handed off to the assigned Remodeler Step back from routine daily client communication after field handoff while remaining available for escalated or project-level issues Scheduling & Production Coordination Build and maintain the remodeling production schedule Determine project timing based on scope, labor availability, project dependencies, and material readiness Assign projects to the appropriate Remodeler Coordinate scheduling changes when projects run ahead, run behind, or encounter unexpected conditions Maintain visibility into every active and upcoming remodeling project Balance workloads across the remodeling team Prevent projects from being scheduled before they are actually ready to begin Coordinate additional labor or support when required Work with company leadership when schedule capacity, staffing, or operational issues arise Project Preparation Review approved project scopes before scheduling Make sure Remodelers have complete project information before assignment Confirm necessary materials, selections, measurements, and project details are available Identify missing information before it creates a field problem Prepare a clean handoff between office coordination and field execution Materials & Procurement Order specialty and project-specific materials Track material lead times and expected delivery dates Coordinate deliveries and pickups around the project schedule Verify critical materials are available before projects begin Communicate delays or substitutions when material availability affects the schedule Work with Remodelers when additional or unexpected material needs arise during production Remodeling Team Oversight Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of the remodeling team Maintain awareness of project progress across all active jobs Hold Remodelers accountable for communication, documentation, quality standards, and project responsibilities Provide support when Remodelers encounter scheduling, material, staffing, or client issues Identify recurring operational problems and help improve the systems behind them Help maintain consistency across the remodeling division Escalate significant personnel, financial, scope, or client issues to company leadership when appropriate Systems & Documentation Keep project schedules and internal systems current Ensure job information is organized and accessible to the field Maintain accurate project notes and status information Track upcoming projects, active projects, delays, outstanding materials, and completion status Ensure important field information is captured rather than living only in conversations or text messages Help continually improve the processes used to move remodeling projects from sale to completion What We're Looking For We are less concerned with finding someone who fits one traditional construction-industry job title and more concerned with finding someone who can successfully own this function. Strong candidates may come from backgrounds such as: Residential construction coordination Project coordination Assistant project management Remodeling operations Construction scheduling Production coordination Office management within a construction company Construction material or supplier coordination Experience in residential construction is strongly preferred because understanding how projects actually unfold in the field is critical to making good scheduling and coordination decisions. Skills That Matter Exceptional organization Strong written and verbal communication Ability to manage many moving pieces simultaneously Strong scheduling and prioritization ability Comfortable making decisions rather than waiting for constant direction Ability to anticipate problems before they reach the jobsite Familiarity with residential construction processes and terminology Ability to communicate effectively with both homeowners and tradespeople Strong follow-through Attention to detail Ability to maintain accountability without micromanaging Comfort learning and using digital scheduling, CRM, and project-management systems Ability to remain organized when schedules inevitably change You'll Be Successful Here If You Naturally think several steps ahead Notice missing information before someone else has to ask for it Can look at five projects at once and understand what each one needs next Communicate clearly instead of allowing assumptions to drive projects Are comfortable holding skilled field employees accountable Understand that scheduling is about more than putting names on a calendar Take ownership when something falls between departments Enjoy creating order from a lot of moving pieces Can give Remodelers autonomy without losing visibility into what's happening Understand that a well-prepared project is significantly easier to execute well How Our Remodeling Team Works Our remodeling operation separates project coordination from field ownership . The Remodeling Coordinator owns the remodeling pipeline, including: Client preparation → scheduling → materials → assignment → team oversight Once a project is ready and assigned: The Remodeler owns day-to-day client communication and field execution. The Coordinator continues to oversee the overall schedule, support the field team, handle logistical needs, and intervene when something requires broader coordination. This structure is designed to keep our Remodelers focused on executing excellent projects while ensuring someone always has visibility across the entire remodeling operation. About Iowa Home Consulting Iowa Home Consulting provides professional residential remodeling, handyman, and home improvement services throughout Central Iowa. We're building a company around dependable people, strong systems, clear communication, professional craftsmanship, and a better homeowner experience. This role is an opportunity to become a central part of how our remodeling division operates, not simply someone who processes paperwork behind it.
