About Chicago Basement Systems Chicago Basement Systems helps homeowners create safer, healthier, and more valuable homes through basement waterproofing, foundation repair, crawl space repair, concrete lifting, and related home improvement solutions. We are growing and looking for an organized, detail-oriented Permitting Coordinator to support our residential construction projects and help keep jobs moving on schedule. Position Summary The Permitting Coordinator is responsible for preparing, submitting, tracking, and coordinating permits for residential construction projects. This role works closely with homeowners, municipalities, project managers, and production teams to make sure required documentation is accurate, permits are approved on time, and internal teams stay informed throughout the process. This role is a strong fit for someone who is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple projects at once, and persistent about following up and resolving issues. What We Provide You Comprehensive training to help you learn our systems, processes, and permitting requirements A supportive team that works closely together to keep projects moving Clear expectations and the tools you need to be successful in the role Opportunities to grow your skills and take on more responsibility as the company grows A stable, full-time position with a growing home services company Health insurance and benefits Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) program What You'll Do Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for residential construction projects Communicate with city and municipal offices regarding permit requirements, documentation, approvals, and inspections Coordinate with homeowners to obtain signatures, documents, and other required information Maintain accurate records of permit statuses, inspections, approvals, and related documentation Partner with production and scheduling teams to help keep projects on schedule and provide clear updates on permit progress Review project paperwork for accuracy and completeness before submission Follow up on outstanding or delayed permits and work to resolve issues quickly Stay current on applicable local permitting requirements and building codes while managing multiple active projects and deadlines What We Need From You Previous experience in permitting, construction administration, project coordination, or a similar administrative role preferred Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Professional and comfortable communicating with homeowners, municipal offices, and internal teams Ability to work independently, stay on top of open items, and follow through without constant oversight Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address issues as they arise Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new computer systems Previous experience working with municipalities, construction permits, or residential construction is a plus Join Our Team If you are organized, dependable, and enjoy keeping projects and details on track, we'd like to hear from you!
