Job Description

Senior Project Manager - Substation & Transmission We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex electrical utility infrastructure projects with a focus on substation and transmission projects. This individual will be responsible for managing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring successful delivery within established scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation. Lead substation and transmission projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Lead project teams by assigning responsibilities, tracking progress, and ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved. Manage project budgets, forecasts, costs, and expenses to ensure projects remain within established financial targets. Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays, resource constraints, and other potential issues. Identify and manage project risks while developing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies. Communicate project status, risks, schedules, and financial updates to stakeholders and senior management. Lead project meetings and facilitate discussions between internal teams, external partners, contractors, and utility stakeholders. Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, project plans, reports, budgets, risk logs, and status updates. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, engineering teams, and contractors. Ensure projects meet applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and utility standards. Support the continued development and implementation of project management best practices and processes. Required Qualifications PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required. Strong project management experience within the electric utility, power, or energy industry. Experience managing substation and/or electrical transmission projects. Knowledge of high-voltage electrical infrastructure, transmission lines, substations, and power delivery projects. Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and multiple stakeholders. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with project management, scheduling, reporting, and Microsoft Office tools. Preferred Experience Experience working directly with an electric utility or utility engineering/construction organization. Experience managing large-scale substation upgrades, new substation construction, transmission line projects, or other power delivery infrastructure projects. Familiarity with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
Pay:
$85.00 - $90.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
