Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of BAS/BMS and HVAC controls projects including planning, design review, procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers; track progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate and supervise internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and engineering partners to ensure cohesive project delivery.
Serve as primary client contact; communicate project status, milestones, technical issues, and financials clearly and proactively.
Review technical submittals, control sequences, wiring diagrams, and system integration plans to ensure compliance with design intent and standards.
Oversee system testing and commissioning activities, including functional testing, performance verification, and punch-list resolution.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance processes.
Manage change orders, procurement, and contract administration, and ensure accurate project documentation and reporting.
Implement continuous improvement practices, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing across projects.
Provide training and support to operations teams and clients on BAS/BMS operation and maintenance as required.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Minimum 5 years of project management experience delivering HVAC controls, BAS, or BMS projects; background as a Controls Engineer or Commissioning Engineer is a plus.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, control strategies, and protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).Proven track record managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, and subcontractor coordination in commercial or industrial environments.
Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with commissioning processes, startup procedures, and field testing of control systems.
Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar) and MS Office suite; experience with BAS integration tools is advantageous.
Professional certifications such as PMP, EIT, or NICET are desirable but not required.
Ability to travel to project sites as needed and a valid drivers license.
