Job Description

A well-established underground utility contractor in the Indianapolis market is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee water, wastewater, sewer, and underground infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity for a proven Project Manager who understands both the operational and financial sides of heavy civil construction and can successfully manage multiple projects from preconstruction through final closeout. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple underground utility and water/wastewater projects simultaneously Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls Manage projects from preconstruction and estimating through completion and closeout Coordinate with field crews, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, municipalities, and project stakeholders Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, billings, and project documentation Track job costs, labor, equipment, production, and overall project profitability Conduct project meetings with operations and subcontractors Perform site visits to monitor production, quality, and safety Manage owner and subcontractor contracts Assist with estimating, site surveys, and project planning Maintain accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and project P&L Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget Qualifications 3+ years of construction/project management experience Water/wastewater or underground utility construction experience strongly preferred Experience managing municipal underground infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of water, sanitary sewer, excavation, trenching, and underground construction Experience with project budgets, forecasting, cost accounting, and P&L management Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts Strong leadership and communication skills Experience coordinating field operations and subcontractors Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction/project management software Primavera/P6 experience is a plus What's Offered Competitive base salary Annual bonus potential Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) matching Paid time off Tuition assistance Long-term career growth with an established underground utility contractor If you're an experienced Project Manager with a background in water/wastewater, underground utilities, or heavy civil construction and are interested in exploring a strong opportunity in the Indianapolis market, I'd like to connect.
