  • Full-time Overview Meyer Building is a growing general contractor based just outside Fort Wayne, Indiana, known for its commitment to quality, strong client relationships, and disciplined approach to project management.
As the company continues to expand, we are looking for an Operations Manager who is excited by the opportunity to strengthen our field and project operations with their construction and leadership knowledge. We are seeking a leader to step into a key role alongside ownership and help guide the next phase of growth. This is not a traditional operations role. This is an opportunity to become a true partner to the ownership team , helping to lead projects, support teams, and bring clarity and structure to day-to-day operations. You will take ownership of project execution across the business, working closely with Project Managers, the Production Manager, and field teams—while helping shape, with ownership, more on strategic growth and business development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership Use your construction expertise to oversee all projects, from pre-construction through completion Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at Meyer Building's quality standards Manage anchor client projects and ensure good customer relationships Establish consistent processes, accountability, and communication across all projects Team Leadership & Development Lead and mentor Project Managers and support their growth and performance Partner closely with the Production Manager to align field execution with project plans Create clarity around roles, expectations, and accountability across operations Project Oversight Oversee field crews, and help with construction related problem-solving and training as needed Regularly visit job sites to ensure alignment, quality, and progress Identify and resolve bottlenecks before they impact timelines or budgets Systems & Process Improvement Evaluate and improve operational systems, workflows, and reporting Bring structure to scheduling, project tracking, and resource planning Help implement tools and processes that support scalability Partnership with Ownership Serve as a trusted partner and sounding board to ownership Help translate business goals into operational execution Provide visibility into project performance, risks, and opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
6-8+ years of experience in construction, operations, or project management leadership Strong understanding of project execution, scheduling, and budgeting Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on Strong communication and problem-solving skills Experience in a growing company environment is a strong plus
