Job Description

Build It. Detail It. See It Through. Grand Industrial is looking for a hands-on fabrication professional who can take a project from concept to completion . If you can create detailed designs in SolidWorks or Inventor, understand how those designs actually get fabricated, and have the leadership skills to manage production, quality, and field execution, we want to talk to you. This is not a desk-only CAD position. You'll combine 3D design, fabrication, CNC/plasma programming, estimating, production management, and project leadership to turn ideas into finished, installed products. What You'll Do Create detailed 2D and 3D fabrication drawings and models using SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor. Develop shop and installation drawings for structural steel, sheet metal, platforms, railings, supports, equipment components, and custom fabrication. Take field measurements and turn customer requirements and project scopes into production-ready designs. Perform material take-offs, project estimates, and vendor/subcontractor quote requests . Set up, program, and operate a CNC plasma table , including producing components from your own designs. Apply CNC machining and fabrication knowledge to ensure designs can be efficiently manufactured. Coordinate and manage fabrication production and scheduling . Work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents, customers, vendors, shop personnel, and field crews. Lead quality-control efforts from design through fabrication and field installation. Visit jobsites as needed for measurements, inspections, troubleshooting, and installation support. Help identify and evaluate new 3D modeling/design technology that could expand Grand Industrial's current capabilities. What We're Looking For Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor — experience with both is preferred. CNC machining experience is required. Experience programming, setting up, and operating a plasma cutting table . Strong hands-on metal fabrication experience . Working knowledge of welding, weld symbols, fit-up, and fabrication practices. Experience with material take-offs and estimating. Understanding of how a CAD design moves from the computer to fabrication and final field installation . Ability to manage production schedules, priorities, and multiple projects. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to lead and communicate effectively with shop and field personnel. Show Us What You Can Do Candidates selected for an interview must be prepared to bring examples of CAD/design work they personally completed . We want to see examples that demonstrate your abilities and hear you explain your design process, software used, fabrication considerations, and how the design was ultimately manufactured or installed. Examples must not contain confidential or proprietary information you are not authorized to share. Compensation & Benefits The advertised $80,000 - $140,000 represents total potential annual compensation, including guaranteed base pay plus profit-sharing opportunity. Base compensation and profit-sharing details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.
