Job Summary Manage Workplace projects with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $2,000,000,000. Provide guidance, instruction, training, and effective communications to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient and economical manner to achieve short and long range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction and profitable performance. Provide leadership, develop partnerships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, labor, governmental agencies, and industry peers. Candidate will also be responsible for bid documents and project supervision through completion of the assigned projects and tasks. Ability to program, design and execute facility construction projects, exhibits proficiency and knowledge of designs that enables the architect to serve as a resource for the company in that area; Job Description What you'll do:
Essential Job Functions and Tasks:
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project and work activities for customers. Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the AEP System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment focused on 'Target Zero'. Supervise, review and coordinate the project plan, schedule, budget, tools, and staff. Effectively communicate project details and status updates. Lead planning meetings and project updates. Develop partnerships with internal and external customers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, labor, & govt. agencies. Provide technical guidance, instruction, and training to improve design, systems, procedures, schedules, and costs. Ensure maximum customer satisfaction and profitable performance of project/outage work activities. Possesses the knowledge to make some technical decisions based on calculated risks without management review; makes decisions affecting long range plans and goals based on analysis of uncertain input and outcomes; visualizes long term results; makes decisions where differences of opinion are likely to exist. Identifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to complex problems that are unique to the organizational unit and requires specialized knowledge of facility design and/or problem-solving techniques. Leads in the preparation and presentation of the most complex designs, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, bringing in ancillary issues before senior management, professional organizations, regulatory bodies, etc. What we're looking for: Education requirements are listed below: Bachelors of Science Degree in engineering or related field or associate degree plus 7 years' experience.Work Experience requirement listed below:
Minimum of 5 years' experience including work in the area of major construction or complex project experience.Other Requirements:

Demonstrate a high-level of confidence in the ability to lead a team and a project to successful conclusion. Effectively communicate, both written and verbal, with all stakeholders including team members, sponsors, management and senior management. Certification of Project Management Professional PMP preferred. Provide strategic thinking, planning, risk assessment and prioritization of project activities. Globally view the project from all angles such as constructability, sequence, changing conditions, contingencies, contractual, predictability, level of priority, sense of direction and sense of productivity to quickly identify and to avoid or to mitigate project risks. Provide organization of project activities, to delegate project task assignments, to confidently set team requirements, expectations, to manage deliverables and to hold team members accountable. Effectively manage conflict to resolve disputes and to maximize synergies, with an overriding goal to do the "right thing" for the company. Possess an understanding of scope management and AEP O&M vs. Capital policies. Evaluate and determine the skillsets and capabilities of team members then make compensations to ensure project success. Demonstrate accountability for project assignments. Seek input from Subject Matter Experts by asking the right questions, understanding the nuances and by clarifying and validating information and not by relying on one's own knowledge base of assumptions. Trained in the areas of construction safety, negotiations, scope development and project controls. Proficient in the use of MicroStation or AutoCAD software.
