Job Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager supports the project manager by assisting with project planning, execution, and administration, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget, while also maintaining quality and safety standardsDuties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Track project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions.
- Manage project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Assist in preparing and distributing RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Manage change orders and ensure they are properly documented and implemented.
- Assist in project closeout, including gathering final documentation and ensuring all punch list items are addressed
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other project-related documents.
- Maintain project records and files.
- Coordinate meetings and track action items.
- Manage project budgets and track expenditures.
- Assist with procurement processes, including soliciting bids and issuing purchase orders.
- Assist with the permit process
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of construction industry practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with construction software and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of project management principles
- Other duties as required
Skills/Abilities:
- Degree in Construction Management, or related field, and minimum 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer, or equivalent role, in the construction industry.
- Candidates must have basic understanding and knowledge of the construction industry, job site safety requirements, contract management, planning and scheduling, budgets, building products, and relevant technology.
- Key competencies are initiative, communication, teamwork, and dependability.
Technical Skills:
ProCore, Tekla, On-Screen Take-off, MS Office Suite.- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication & verbal skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management
- Must have at least 2 years job-related experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
