SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
HVAC
AND PLUMBING
Forest Hill, MDWho Staffing is looking for a Senior Project Manager for a fulltime, direct hire opportunity with our client in Forest Hill, MD.
Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical and plumbing projects. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role is crucial for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Read and understand contract language and scope.
  • Update manpower requests for each project on Teams Manpower Report weekly. Review with the rest of the team biweekly on Mondays.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources for the successful execution of projects.
  • Attend biweekly Operations Meetings. Be prepared to discuss current issues and upcoming risks on all projects.
  • Monitor and manage project performance, including budget and timeline.
  • Complete Monthly Financial WIPS with CFO to include cost to complete, corrected open purchase orders, updated change order log and Monthly Cost to Complete WIP form (income projections).
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Complete a biweekly walk through at all major projects with the superintendents & foreman.
Review the following logs:
Equipment, RFI, Change Order, submittal, hours used to date, current three-week schedule and contract schedule.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met in all aspects of the projects.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Prepare and present project updates to various stakeholders, including team members, executives, and clients.
  • Facilitate and lead project meetings.
  • Evaluate project performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Resolve customer service-related tasks. Manage difficult or emotional customer situations. Respond promptly to customer requests for service and other service issues. Solicits customer feedback to improve service.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities. Ability to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives. Support everyone's efforts to succeed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Principles and practices of project management, preferably within the mechanical/plumbing industry.
  • Efficient in reading blueprints and construction documentation
  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting project scope.
  • Technical aspects of mechanical and plumbing projects. Ability to:
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively, both in written and verbal forms.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in the mechanical or plumbing industry.
  • Five to seven years of experience in managing complex projects, preferably within a company of at least 50 staff persons.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable.
