BUILD PREMIUM INTERIORS WITH A BALTIMORE TEAM BACKED BY SWISS QUALITY
Display Craft Manufacturing, an Obrist America company, is growing its Baltimore team at an exciting moment. We combine more than 75 years of local custom store fixture, cabinetry, and millwork manufacturing with the international reach, craftsmanship, and Swiss quality standards of the Obrist network. Our projects require strong coordination across clients, designers, engineering, purchasing, production, shipping, and installation. We are looking for a Project Manager who can guide complex custom work from kickoff to completion with ownership, clarity, and urgency.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Manager owns the day-to-day coordination and successful delivery of custom millwork, store fixture, cabinetry, and interior build-out projects. You will manage project scope, schedule, communication, change orders, documentation, inventory needs, engineering coordination, production priorities, and customer expectations. This role is ideal for a self-directed professional who understands custom manufacturing and can keep multiple stakeholders aligned in real time.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead complex custom millwork and store fixture projects from kickoff through production, shipping, installation support, and closeout. Serve as a primary communication point for customers, internal teams, designers, architects, vendors, and installation partners. Maintain clear real-time project updates, schedule awareness, documentation, and follow-up for all involved parties. Navigate change orders effectively, including scope clarification, cost/schedule impact, approval tracking, and communication. Collaborate with engineering to finalize project designs, shop drawings, technical details, production packages, logistics, and installation considerations. Coordinate with purchasing and production to ensure materials, hardware, inventory, and resources are aligned with project demands. Identify risks early and solve issues quickly to protect quality, budget, schedule, and customer experience. Manage project meetings, action items, submittals, approvals, and internal handoffs. Support continuous improvement in project management processes, templates, reporting, and cross-functional communication.
WHAT YOU BRING
Project management experience required, preferably in custom manufacturing, commercial millwork, store fixtures, cabinetry, construction, or interior build-outs. Architectural millwork, shop fitting, retail fixture, or custom interiors experience strongly preferred. Ability to understand drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, materials, change orders, and production constraints. Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to communicate clearly with customers, engineering, production, vendors, and leadership. Experience with ERP systems, project management software, Microsoft Office, and structured project documentation preferred. Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities under deadline pressure. Practical problem-solving mindset with strong follow-through, accountability, and attention to detail. Ability to work onsite in Baltimore with flexibility and one remote day per week as business needs allow.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily office/project coordination work with regular interaction on the production floor. Ability to walk the shop floor, review project status, and coordinate with production teams with or without reasonable accommodation.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer 100% company-paid full family health insurance, dental, vision, paid holidays, paid vacation/PTO, sick days, and 401(k) or pension. You will join a team where project management has visible impact every day: better customer communication, smoother production, fewer surprises, and successful delivery of high-quality custom interiors.
