full-time
Job Description:
Assistant Project Manager (APM) | Baltimore, MD | $60,000-$95,000 + benefits Most Assistant Project Manager roles talk about growth but limit exposure to real project responsibility. This opportunity is designed differently. A well-established General Contractor in the Baltimore market is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to play an active role in delivering federal and large-scale commercial construction projects. This position is built for someone who wants meaningful involvement across the project lifecycle, not just task-based support. If you have 1-3 years of construction project management experience and are looking for a role that offers responsibility, mentorship, and a clear path forward, this is a strong next step.
Why This Role Stands Out:
Involvement throughout the full project lifecycle rather than being siloed Direct exposure to federal construction processes including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and compliance An opportunity for candidates with commercial construction experience to transition into federal work Structured mentorship and collaboration with experienced Project Managers Stable General Contractor with a consistent and diverse project pipeline
Key Responsibilities:
Support project planning, coordination, and execution from start to finish Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders Assist with schedules, budgets, and cost tracking Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders Support project meetings, reporting, and closeout documentation
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager or in a similar construction role Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders Federal construction experience preferred but not required Commercial or large-scale project experience strongly considered Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience Benefits, PTO, and long-term career growth opportunities This is a thoughtfully structured role for an APM who wants to build real project management experience and grow with a respected contractor. Interviews are scheduled to take place next week so if you're interested in hearing more about this and other roles, then please get in touch asap to discuss further at 480-818-6995 or send your resume to k.adams@renewyx.com
