Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for tracking all cost, technical, and quality aspects of a project as defined in individual contracts from proposal development through project closeout. This person serves as the main client POC for a particular project, and manages multidisciplinary teams comprised of mechanical engineering, analysis, electrical engineering and software development resources to ensure project execution to project scope, timing, quality, and budget.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager is responsible for the following tasks, and others as requested: Manages the technical execution of projects and serves as the main point of contact (POC) to a client during the duration of a project. Utilizes the Product Realization process to manage projects from opportunity to closeout. Assists with or leads proposal development with collaboration from members of the Business Development team. Manages overall project risk and elevates risks to the Management Team as applicable, leads risk mitigation activities were appropriate. Maintains project schedules and coordinates personnel resources, works with Engineering Manager and other Project or Program Managers to develop resource strategies to meet client expectations. Performs role of subject matter expert (SME) in technical areas that align with past performance. Performs supervisory functions including performance reviews and day-to-day management tasks (timecards, etc.) for direct reports. Participates in the support and continual improvement of GS Engineering's Quality Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS / ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required (additional coursework in project management preferred). Additional project management experience in a technical services field preferred. Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering or related field required. Ability to handle ambiguity and open design environments with competing requirements. Must demonstrate superior professional communication skills, organization, self-motivation, and attention to detail. U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident able to obtain a security clearance from the Department of Defense upon hiring.
