Job Summary:
As a Senior Project Manager, you are responsible for overall team management, effective client management, and for completing assigned jobs within established quality, budget, and schedule constraints. You are accountable for the successful completion of the project and consistently delivering success through organized teamwork following best practices and progressive processes.Job Duties:
Maintain correspondence with the customer throughout all phases of design and build, logging relevant correspondence in the job files.- Establish initial schedule and budget upon receipt of the order, working with Operations Manager to integrate it into current workload and available resources. Formalize and adjust schedules and budgets as design progresses.
- Check designs for correct quantities and overall operation and approve ACSs (Bill of Materials) prior to release
- Determine when outsourcing is needed and coordinate with purchasing department to obtain quotes.
- Assist purchasing staff with obtaining purchased components that meet budget and lead times
- Work with department managers to establish hours budgets for each process and deadlines for each department
- Assist shop personnel in resolving issues that may arise, involving other departments or the customer, as necessary.
- Ensure that all changes or customer requests are within the original scope of work, or work with sales staff to initiate change order process
- Coordinate project testing & runoffs/buyoffs, and installs, assisting as needed.
- Ensure all needed photos and videos are taken (progress, runoff, and shipping), and testing and buyoffs are fully documented.
- Track 'as built' issues (red lines back to engineering for lessons learned and updates) Ensure the Requirements Review, Planning, and Final Inspection Processes are followed as outlined in the QMS manual
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of project management experience within automotive manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or warehouse development. Thorough understanding of equipment manufacturing and all phases of the design and build process.- Ability to actively manage and communicate understanding of job cost performance.
- Understand basic controls components such as sensors, cables, disconnects, valves, manifolds, and junction boxes.
- Experienced in selecting and purchasing components.
- Strong internet research skills.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity of programs such as MS Office Suite (including Excel and Project), CAD viewers and MRP software. Ability to implement new tracking systems is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organized with the ability to multitask and manage time well Proficient reading blueprints Strong math skills
