As Retrofit Project Engineer, you will be working on the latest technology and supply solutions to industries shaping the future, for example, laser systems for battery production for electric vehicles. You will receive extensive training to get started in the position and for continuous development throughout your career. You will be a contributing member in a growing Laser Technology team. In this role you will have overall responsibility for executing customer projects and modifying layouts to meet new standards and specifications. Thus, you will contribute significantly to TRUMPF's overall success as well as customer satisfaction. Duties & Responsibilities Take over responsibility, process, and execute new customer orders from start to finish Address customer inquiries appropriately, for example by consulting with a product manager having technical expertise or working with colleagues in Germany Supervise the overall project progress & milestones, take necessary measures to ensure success Conduct kick-off and status update meetings if applicable Collaborate with multiple departments locally and overseas, pull in technical experts and commercial support when useful, e.g. our retrofit teams overseas or our local product managers and application engineers Communicate with customers about execution status of project, e.g. regarding delivery Calculate project profitability for customer orders Maintain good overview of large number of simultaneous projects and keep management informed Travel Routine travel within North America to support customers will be required. Less than 10% anticipated. Must maintain Valid Driver's License Occasional overnights as needed Education & Experience Degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business-related field. 5+ years experience with project management in automotive or industrial manufacturing environment. Familiarity with machine tools, lasers, and/or laser systems preferred.
