A Project Manager manages work on projects with a defined scope, start and completion point. Leads project teams, manages project budgets and schedules; manages contractors and communications with stakeholders. May manage projects in construction, information technology or in other industries.
A leading, innovative off-site construction and structural components manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to own end-to-end project delivery. This role takes full accountability for transitioning projects from preconstruction handoff through component completion and site turnover. You will serve as the single point of accountability for delivering defined project scopes on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards, expertly managing tradeoffs and formal change processes when project constraints conflict.
Key Responsibilities Department Leadership:
Oversee the daily workflow, performance reviews, and assignments of the Project Management department and direct reports.
Schedule Ownership:
Own the master schedule and milestone plan, integrate factory floor production output (takt and flow), manage procurement timelines to prevent line stoppages, and track Schedule Performance Index (SPI) to flag slippage early.
Budget & Procurement:
Maintain absolute ownership of the project budget, run weekly reconciliations with the Financial Controller, manage an open-commitment register, and oversee vendor relationship management to drive cost-reduction opportunities.
Quality & Submittals:
Own the submittal preparation and tracking pipeline, integrate Quality department hold points into the master schedule, and ensure all gates align with
ISO 9001
Quality Management Systems.
Change Control:
Manage the formal RFI and change-order gate with the Architect of Record, signing off on all cost/schedule impacts before external communication.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Represent the company in Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and manage the resolution timeline with the Architect of Record.
Preconstruction Leadership:
Lead upcoming project setups (budgeting, drawing reviews, and procurement scheduling) while collaborating with a Junior Project Manager who handles active project closeouts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with QC and Purchasing on material takeoffs, compliance, and capitalizing on specialized utility rebate opportunities.
Position Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 7-10 years of proven experience in project management, estimation, and field services management within the off-site construction and structural components manufacturing, tract home manufacturing, or construction industry.
Technical Estimating:
Proficient in cost estimation techniques, software tools, and performing material takeoffs.
Plans & Blueprints:
Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings and navigate complex specifications and plans.
Project Controls:
Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously using tools like MS Project, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of off-site construction and structural components manufacturing processes, construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and quality control standards.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail, advanced data analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Certifications:
PMP, LEED, or other relevant industry credentials are a plus.
Travel:
