What You'll Do As the Project Manager - Utiliti es, you'll oversee capital improvement projects supporting Eastern Michigan University's utility infrastructure, including steam production and electrical generation systems. You'll be responsible for the full project lifecycle, including: Leading engineering consultants, contractors, equipment vendors, and construction teams. Managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies. Monitoring project performance while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget Preparing project documentation including AFEs, forecasts, cost analyses, and executive reporting Collaborating closely with Eastern Michigan University leadership and CenTrio stakeholders Driving continuous improvements in project management standards and best practices Ensuring projects are completed safely while maintaining exceptional environmental and operational standards This role offers significant ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to influence critical infrastructure improvements that will serve the campus fo r decades. What We're Looking For We're interested in professionals who have experience managing complex capital projects within industries such as: District Energy Utilities Power Generation Industrial Manufacturing Chemical Processing Oil & Gas Heavy Industrial Facilities Campus Utility Systems Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline Five or more years of relevant experience, including project management leadership Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction projects Strong understanding of utility systems and industrial infrastructure Ability to read engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar software Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control What Makes You Successful You thrive when balancing multiple priorities while keeping projects moving forward.
