This position entails a variety of responsibilities from pre-bid to project completion working with general contractors, vendors, and internal team members to provide outstanding service to our customers. Daylight Specialists is one of the leading providers of daylighting products, support and installation services in the Midwest. We work on a wide range of commercial projects in all industry segments and with some of the top contractors in the industry. We have been working with architects, contractors, and property owners to daylight commercial spaces since 2009.Job Summary:
The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for supporting the Commercial Business and helping us achieve our growth and service objectives. The Project Manager works to complete project-specific administrative tasks and coordination needs on time. This role is also essential in supporting our sales efforts by assessing opportunities and creating competitive estimates. Additionally, this role will work on major projects within our Residential Business. As a Project Manager/Estimator, a typical day may include: Preparing contract deliverables in accordance with project specifications - these deliverables include submittal items, closeout documents, and other project documents Coordinating product procurement and shipping plans Working with the installation team to ensure a timely, professional, and high-quality installation Attendance of pre-construction, project kickoff, and other project milestone meetings Reviewing opportunities and detailing requirements and developing a competitive bid to help us profitably secure that opporutnity. Supporting the sales team on project design, estimates, and bidsRequirements:
Ability to read construction plans Ability to effectively estimate projects Ability to multitask several projects at a time Communication and problem-solving skillsResponsibilities:
Support sales team with the bid process Coordinate with vendors, project team and clients to organize project. Process and review RFI's and submittals Creating and managing project schedule while coordinating with Superintendents and Project Managers Coordinate with vendors, project team and clients to organize project. Manage their projects from beginning to end Provide exceptional customer service on all projects Working with installation team on scheduling of installs Qualifications High school diploma required, four-year degree from an accredited university within the construction, engineering, or business concentrations preferred 2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor Previous experience on commercial job sites strongly preferred Passion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek quality; excellent organizational and task management skills required Demonstrate integrity consistent with company culture Seek continuous improvement of knowledge and abilities, internal focus on self-improvement Collaborate with people of various backgrounds and styles Create and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors Exhibit respectfulness by being punctual, engaged/focused, and respectful of othersCompensation Pay:
