Senior Project Manager - Woodbury, MN Are you a driven civil engineer with a passion for shaping communities through impactful infrastructure design? AE2S is looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Project Manager to lead and grow our municipal services. This is more than a senior project management role — it's an opportunity to build and expand a team, develop and foster client relationships, and take ownership of projects that improve how communities live, work, and grow. In this role, you'll work closely with municipal clients to develop and lead projects from concept to completion, managing both technical execution and client engagement. Projects are anticipated to be focused on site development, underground utilities (water, wastewater, storm infrastructure), and grading/paving. Your leadership as the Senior Project Manager will help cultivate a team of engineers and designers while delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions for municipalities, developers, and public agencies. Responsibilities Provide professional services for municipal civil engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors. Client management activities including maintaining and enhancing existing and pursued client relationships and identifying, evaluating, and leading project opportunities. Manage multi-disciplinary staff resources and sub-consultants to deliver high quality projects tailored to the requests of the client. Develop and maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments. Coordinate, facilitate, and lead internal and external meetings. Provide quality control and assurance as part of AE2S' overall municipal practice.
Job Requirements:
Basic Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months. 15+ years of experience in civil engineering. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development. 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a project engineer for municipal clients. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Master degree in civil engineering or related field. 6+ years demonstrated of experience as a municipal client manager. Proficient with Civil 3D. Ability to lead both internal initiatives and external projects. Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 6 months. Physical Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
