Job Description

Overview:
Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Software Project Coordinator Intern in St. Joseph, MO to join our team and support software development initiatives. This internship provides an opportunity to work closely with software engineers, project managers, and business stakeholders to help coordinate projects that support the development of innovative railroad technology solutions. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about software development, project coordination, and technology-driven business operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Assist with coordinating software development projects and tracking project milestones, timelines, and deliverables. Collaborate with software engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to support project planning and execution. Help maintain project documentation, meeting notes, status updates, and task tracking systems. Participate in requirements gathering, process improvement efforts, and communication between technical and non-technical teams. Gain exposure to software development lifecycles, project management tools, and technology solutions used in the railroad industry. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog's Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with project management tools such as Jira or Confluence is a plus. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review. Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen. Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

Frequently use a computer keyboard and office related equipment. Requires occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping or bending. Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position. Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
