Job Description

Operations & Project Manager - Luxury Residential Big Sky, MontanaFull-Time | On-Site A growing luxury residential management company in Big Sky, Montana is seeking an experienced Operations & Project Manager to lead day-to-day operations, manage a field team, and oversee residential projects across a portfolio of high-end private homes. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows how to organize people, manage projects, solve problems, and get things across the finish line. The right person will be equally comfortable leading a team, walking a construction project, speaking with a homeowner, coordinating contractors, reviewing an estimate, and building a better operational process. The Role You will take ownership of the daily execution of the operation, ensuring our team, vendors, properties, and projects stay organized and moving forward.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and support Property Management and Maintenance teams Coordinate daily and weekly field operations Set priorities, assign responsibilities, and hold the team accountable for completion Oversee property inspections, preventative maintenance, service requests, and follow-up Manage multiple residential projects from planning through completion Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and action plans Solicit, review, and coordinate vendor proposals Schedule contractors, vendors, and internal resources Conduct site visits and monitor project progress Track budgets, approvals, deadlines, change orders, and outstanding decisions Identify potential issues before they become larger problems Maintain clear communication with homeowners and internal leadership Hold contractors and vendors accountable for schedule, quality, and completion Improve internal systems, documentation, workflows, and operational efficiency Ensure details don't disappear between the office, field team, vendors, and homeowner Projects can range from smaller property improvements to significant residential projects involving construction, roofing, landscaping, mechanical systems, home technology, furnishings, preventative maintenance, and renovations. You don't need to personally perform the work. You need to make sure the work gets done correctly. Who We're Looking For You may come from luxury property management, construction project management, estate management, facilities management, hospitality operations, or another high-service operational environment. More important than your exact background is how you operate.
We want someone who:
Takes ownership without waiting to be asked Can manage multiple competing priorities without losing details Is comfortable making decisions and solving problems Can lead employees while maintaining accountability Communicates professionally with sophisticated clients Is confident managing contractors and vendors Understands estimates, budgets, invoices, and project costs Has enough construction and building knowledge to recognize when something isn't right Creates systems instead of relying on memory Follows through relentlessly Is comfortable spending time both in the office and in the field Remains composed when plans change or problems arise This Role Is Probably Not For You If… You want a predictable desk job. You need someone else to create your daily task list. You avoid difficult conversations with employees or contractors. You are great at starting projects but less interested in closing them out. This position requires someone who can see the problem, organize the solution, assign responsibility, and own the outcome. Why This Opportunity Is Different You'll work with exceptional private residences, sophisticated home systems, talented tradespeople, and a growing organization where the Operations & Project Manager has genuine influence over how the company operates. This isn't a position where you'll simply inherit a checklist. You'll have the opportunity to: Lead and develop a growing team Manage interesting and complex residential projects Build better operational systems Improve efficiency and accountability Work directly with company ownership Have meaningful responsibility and decision-making authority Grow into greater leadership as the organization expands Qualifications Preferred qualifications include: 5+ years of operations, construction, property management, facilities, hospitality, or project management experience Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Experience leading employees, contractors, and/or vendors Strong project-management and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication Comfortable reviewing budgets, estimates, invoices, and project documentation Construction or residential building-systems knowledge strongly preferred High-end residential experience is an advantage Valid driver's license and ability to travel between properties throughout the Big Sky area We're ultimately hiring for judgment, ownership, organization, urgency, leadership, and follow-through. If you're the person people rely on to organize the chaos, solve the problem, and make sure the job actually gets finished, we'd like to hear from you.
