Job Description
About the Position Paradise Fencing and Construction Company, Inc., established in 1998, is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager to help manage large commercial, industrial, and government fencing and security projects. This is an entry-level position with an opportunity to learn directly from company leadership and advance into a Project Manager role. Prior fencing or project-management experience is not required. We are looking for someone who communicates well, is comfortable with technology, pays attention to details, and wants to build a career in commercial construction. Primary Responsibilities Assist with organizing and managing commercial construction projects. Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project scopes. Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and product information. Assist with material takeoffs, purchasing, and vendor coordination. Track material orders, lead times, deliveries, and domestic-sourcing requirements. Maintain project schedules, task lists, meeting notes, and progress reports. Organize change-order documentation and time-and-material records. Enter and maintain project information in Procore. Communicate with general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel. Visit jobsites to document progress and assist with field coordination. Help prepare closeout documents, warranties, and operation manuals. Learn federal construction requirements, prevailing-wage documentation, and government project procedures. Assist with multiple active projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's or associate degree in construction management, engineering, business, drafting, or a related field preferred. Equivalent construction, administrative, estimating, or military experience will also be considered. No prior project-management experience is required. Ability to read or learn to read construction drawings and specifications. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organized and able to keep track of multiple deadlines. Willingness to learn Procore and other construction-management software. Valid driver's license and ability to visit regional jobsites. Ability to obtain access to military and government facilities. Preferred but Not Required Construction internship or field experience. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or estimating software. Familiarity with commercial construction documents. Experience preparing material takeoffs or purchase orders. This position is designed for someone who wants to develop into a capable commercial construction Project Manager.
