Job Description

Position Overview:
We are a growing commercial masonry firm based in Charlotte NC area. As a small and growing company you will be an integral part of our team and have a wide variety of responsibility.. We are are in search of a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Masonry Estimator/Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This dual-role position involves sales, estimating, bidding, and managing commercial masonry projects from inception through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Our office is located in Indian Trail, NC. This role will be asked and required to do a variety of items from estimating to project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating Duties:
Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare accurate estimates and proposals. Perform detailed material take-offs related to masonry, labor calculations, and equipment cost analysis. Ability to learn from lead estimator our estimating system. (Bluebeam and Excel based) Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors as needed. Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel and formulas to input information from take-off. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and conditions. Track and manage bid schedules and follow up on submitted bids.
Project Management Duties:
Manage awarded projects from contract to closeout, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Develop and maintain project submittals, schedules, coordinate manpower and materials. Serve as the main point of contact for clients, general contractors, field crews, and suppliers. Develop positive effective working relationships with our contractors (clients) that we service. Monitor job progress, quality, and safety compliance on job sites. Process change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation. Maintain project budgets, monitor costs, and prepare billing invoices. Resolve issues that arise during construction to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications:
2-5+ years of experience in commercial masonry estimating and/or project management. Strong understanding of masonry systems including brick, block, stone, and precast. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents. Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, and Excel). Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and project management tools (e.g., Procore). Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required depending on experience. OSHA 10 and 30 hour cards preferred but not required
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Primarily office-based with regular visits to job sites. Must be able to walk construction sites and occasionally lift materials or equipment up to 80 lbs.
