Job Description
MCL Arena Mentality At MCL, we step into the arena together. Our core values guide how we show up every day, from how we lead and work together to how we serve our clients and communities. The Arena Mentality means putting those values into action: taking ownership, tackling challenges, supporting your team, speaking up, and bringing solutions to the table. As MCL grows, every employee has the opportunity to make an impact, influence our projects, and help shape what comes next. You're not just filling a role. You're part of the team building what's next. What You Bring to the Arena Lead mission critical and data center projects from preconstruction and buyout through closeout, often in live, occupied, or secure environments. Own the financial performance of your projects, including budgets, forecasting, buyout, contracts, change management, and cost control. Build and manage project schedules with zero tolerance for slippage, proactively identifying risks that could jeopardize commissioning or occupancy dates. Partner with the Superintendent and specialty trade partners to sequence critical power, cooling, and life-safety systems without disrupting live operations. Lead OAC meetings and serve as a trusted, technically fluent partner to owners, engineers, and mission critical trade partners. Drive commissioning (Cx), QA/QC, and risk management processes specific to mission critical infrastructure. Manage the security, access control, and safety protocols required to work in active or classified environments. Develop Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers while building teams that execute flawlessly under pressure. The Skills Behind the Build 8+ years of commercial construction experience, including 3+ years as a Project Manager with a general contractor. Proven experience independently leading $10M-$50M+ mission critical, data center, or other highly technical projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems — UPS, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, switchgear, fire suppression, and BMS. Familiarity with commissioning processes and industry standards (Uptime Institute Tier ratings, TIA-942, or similar). Experience working in live, occupied, or secure environments, including associated access and background-check protocols. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience. Build What's Next You've built projects where "close enough" was never good enough. We want to give you MCL's highest-stakes work — the projects where uptime is the client's entire business. MCL is growing its mission critical portfolio, and so is the scope of this seat. You'll lead the technically complex jobs other PMs step back from, with the resources and trust to execute them right. Take on the industry's most demanding builds. Develop the next generation of mission critical leaders. Help MCL become the contractor owners call when downtime isn't an option. More complexity. More trust. More room to grow. Since 1987, MCL has built its reputation on quality work, lasting relationships, and people who take pride in doing things the right way.
