Job Description

Nature of Work Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the day to day operations of a function, program, and/or department - this is not a secretarial position. Assists in program planning and development; interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures; administers budgets; and coordinates academic and/or staff personnel matters. Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department. Examples of Work Performed 1. Assists in program planning and development for academic affairs and records, including dual credit and the completer program. 2. Interpret, monitor, and analyze information regarding operational policies and procedures. 3. Maintain compliance with established record release procedures, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). 4. Assists with coordination and provides services to high schools for dual credit, returning students in the completer program, and support for the office of Records and the Registrar. 5. Resolve problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department and the college. 6. Responsible for accurately performing academic data entry and verification within the College's student data management system. 7. Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities and travel planning in accordance with departmental and academic affairs policies and procedures. 8. Assists in the creation of fall, spring, and summer dual credit, professional development, and continuing education schedules by collaborating with academic units and regional partners in education to determine course offerings and locations. 9. Manages all aspects of the dual credit program for high school students including but not limited to: a. Work with high schools and WSC academic leadership to develop, receive approval, arrange for delivery of, and grade assignments for dual credit courses. b. Coordinate and facilitate the admissions and enrollment processes for dual credit and professional development students. c. Manage reporting requirements and student tracking for the Access College Early (ACE) scholarship program. d. Work with guidance counselors and administration from dual credit partners to resolve student issues relating to course add/withdrawals, failing grades, refunds, billing, etc. e. In collaboration with the Office of Admissions and Academic Affairs, assists in the scheduling and support of meetings (including travel) held with dual credit partners. 10. Coordinate course creation and student enrollment processes for courses offered by external entities for academic credit that are eligible for the Professional Development (PD) Course tuition rate. 11. Coordinate course creation and student enrollment for additional personal enrichment courses offered through third party entities or community members that align with the needs and interests of individuals within the WSC service region. 12. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate's degree or work related experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree Prior student records experience Prior K-12 experience Knowledge of FERPA and student records security standards Experience working with PeopleSoft or similar data mgt. systems Computer and data entry skills Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Physical Demands License and Certification Requirements Other Requirements Criminal Background and DMV Check; valid driver's license Salary Information Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive benefit package. Annual salary range is $44,239-$55,299.
