The ideal candidate will have experience managing public works projects and a strong understanding of construction management, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile municipal, institutional, and infrastructure projects from pre-construction through project closeout while collaborating with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and public agencies. Key Responsibilities Assist in and/or manage all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through final completion and closeout. Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software. Track project budgets, costs, forecasts, change orders, subcontractor agreements, and project financials. Coordinate daily activities with field personnel, subcontractors, consultants, owners, and vendors. Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings for completeness and compliance. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules. Prepare project reports, meeting minutes, payment applications, and other required project documentation. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, agency specifications, OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and company safety policies. Coordinate inspections, permits, project documentation, and project closeout activities. Support procurement activities, subcontractor coordination, and material deliveries. Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, agency representatives, and internal project teams. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
Assistant Project Manager:
2-5 years of construction management experience.
Project Manager:
5+ years of construction management experience. Experience managing or supporting public works, heavy civil, infrastructure, commercial, municipal, institutional, or parks projects . Experience working with one or more of the following public agencies is strongly preferred : DASNY (Dormitory Authority of the State of New York) NYCSCA (New York City School Construction Authority) MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) NYCDDC (New York City Department of Design and Construction) NYCDPR (New York City Department of Parks & Recreation) NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) NYCDEP (New York City Department of Environmental Protection) Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Working knowledge of public agency construction procedures, prevailing wage requirements, MWBE participation goals, certified payroll, and public contract administration. Proficiency with Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, HeavyBid, Procore (preferred), Civil 3D, and other construction management software. Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, cost control, estimating, and construction documentation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining quality and safety standards. OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
