Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Manager is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for site and capital projects, ensuring that design, construction and commissioning of projects meet operating, safety and environmental permitting requirements while meeting schedule and budget.RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the evaluation and prioritization of projects under consideration, including major capital investments, including: Align process with corporate capital spend criteria. Communicate prioritization and manage backlog. Oversee AFE process and act as an internal quality control hurdle. Identify, mitigate, monitor, and respond to project risks. Responsible for developing and maintaining the site capital project register and ensuring it is updated appropriately for operations budget submittals. Oversee the capital budgeting and forecasting process to ensure designated projects are equipped with the appropriate level of planning, cost and schedule accuracy. Responsible for safe project execution, on time and on budget, including: Direct responsibility for execution of all projects >$1M (may also depend on complexity or other factors) Manage contractor selection process. Identify opportunities for improvement to the project throughout the course of delivery. Interact closely with supply chain to ensure timely availability of project materials at appropriate cost. Identifies, mitigates, monitors, and responds to risks related to project execution. Reports progress to the project sponsor(s) as required. Proactively monitors interdependencies with other projects, i.e., inputs from, and outputs to other projects. Communicate regularly to all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and auditability. Ensures appropriate capital stewardship by tracking and managing spend according to plan.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business or engineering or combination of education and experience required. A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in progressive project management required. Large capital project experience required. Strong technical knowledge of project management techniques required. Project controls, governance and risk management experience required. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership qualities required. Excellent planning, problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills required . Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
