Job Description

J&R Specialties Inc., a leader in the Western New York commercial construction market for over 25 years, is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team. This position is dedicated strictly to Division 10 Specialties (e.g., toilet partitions, fire extinguishers, lockers, visual display boards, etc.). You will be responsible for managing projects from the initial takeoff through final closeout, ensuring each job is completed on time, on budget, and to our high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Project Documentation:
Prepare and manage take-offs, quotes, submittals, purchase orders, and project closeouts.
Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, owners, and general contractors.
Financial Oversight:
Ensure strict cost control by managing material purchases and installation costs while reviewing contingency resources.
Change Management:
Submit and review change orders, effectively communicating issues and developing resolutions as they arise.
Field Coordination:
Coordinate field measuring when necessary and work closely with onsite foremen to resolve potential issues.
Site Quality:
Periodically travel to jobsites across Western New York to conduct walkthroughs with site foremen and ensure project quality.
Scheduling:
Develop and maintain accurate schedules and sequencing of work.
Administration:
Review work in progress and submit monthly billings based on materials purchased and completed work.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of project management experience specifically within the commercial construction industry.
Technical Proficiency:
Must have a strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and understand technical specifications.
Software:
Proficiency in MS office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Workspace is required; experience with Procore, and Bluebeam is considered a bonus.
Personal Traits:
We are looking for an individual who is ambitious, highly organized, customer-focused, and self-motivated.
Industry Knowledge:
Must possess a solid general knowledge of construction industry activities and workflows.
Travel:
Ability to travel periodically within the Western New York radius for site visits and meetings.
Compensation Salary:
Commensurate with your level of experience. This is a full-time position based in Akron, NY .
Work Remotely No Pay:
From $75,000.00 per year
