We are looking for a dedicated Project Manager who can work on-site at our Hawthorne headquarters five days a week. It is essential that applicants possess direct experience managing projects with external clients, rather than focusing solely on internal initiatives. Our team is searching for a professional who excels at managing custom-engineered industrial machinery, automation, or packaging systems within a manufacturing setting. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of various capital equipment projects, guiding them from the initial order release to final installation and client sign-off. As the central point of contact, you will bridge the gap between our Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service departments to ensure every project meets our rigorous quality standards while staying on track and within budget. Core Responsibilities Oversee the full lifecycle of several custom packaging equipment projects simultaneously, from initial order to final client approval. Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring they receive consistent and timely updates throughout the project duration. Create and manage comprehensive project timelines to help the team consistently meet critical milestones, budget requirements, and deliverables. Facilitate collaboration across various departments, including Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service. Direct internal status updates, project kickoff sessions, and regular progress meetings with our clients. Oversee project scope, manage change orders, and address any commercial impacts related to scheduling shifts. Identify potential project risks early on to help maintain project schedules and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Organize all aspects of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), shipping, site installation, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). Maintain precise and up-to-date project documentation, status reports, and client correspondence to support project transparency. Leverage project management software and reporting tools to monitor resource allocation and overall project performance. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to help boost manufacturing efficiency and enhance the overall customer experience. Travel to client sites as required for installations, meetings, and acceptance testing, with travel expected to be between 10% and 15%. Required Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. At least four years of experience working as a Project Engineer or Project Manager within equipment manufacturing, systems integration, or fabrication. Possession of a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training is highly preferred. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong communication skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines. A proactive, ownership-driven mindset paired with strong problem-solving skills. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma methodologies is considered a valuable asset. The ability to remain flexible and adapt quickly to evolving project needs or client requests. A detail-oriented and hands-on approach, maintaining a sense of urgency to ensure projects are successfully completed. Proficiency in using project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar software.
