Job Description

WEC Electrical Supply is seeking an experienced Electrical Gear Project Manager to join our team in New York. WEC Electrical Supply is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) electrical distributor serving electrical contractors and customers with quality products, responsive service, and industry expertise. The Electrical Gear Project Manager will be responsible for managing electrical gear and switchgear projects from order entry through final delivery and closeout. This position will serve as a key point of contact between customers, manufacturers, vendors, and WEC's internal Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Warehouse teams. Key Responsibilities Manage electrical gear and switchgear projects from order entry through shipment, delivery, and project closeout. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. Review project plans, specifications, one-line diagrams, equipment schedules, and related project documentation. Coordinate product submittals, approvals, revisions, and release of equipment for manufacturing. Work directly with switchgear and electrical equipment manufacturers to obtain pricing, technical information, drawings, approvals, production schedules, and delivery dates. Track project schedules, manufacturing lead times, milestones, and delivery requirements to ensure projects remain on schedule. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Operations, Accounting, and Warehouse teams to ensure successful project execution. Identify and resolve project issues, discrepancies, delays, and equipment changes. Manage change orders, pricing revisions, addendums, and other changes to project scope. Maintain accurate project documentation, correspondence, status reports, and financial information. Monitor project costs, margins, billing milestones, and overall project profitability. Provide customers with timely and accurate project status updates. Develop and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors, manufacturers, vendors, engineers, and other project stakeholders. Manage multiple electrical gear projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service and attention to detail. Support sales efforts by identifying additional opportunities within assigned projects and customer accounts. Qualifications 3-7 years of relevant experience in electrical gear, switchgear, electrical distribution, electrical construction, project management, or a related field. Experience managing electrical equipment or construction projects from order through completion strongly preferred. Working knowledge of electrical distribution equipment such as switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, ATS, and related electrical equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and single-line diagrams. Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project costs, margins, changes, and customer expectations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, customers, and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business/project management systems. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience will also be considered.
Compensation Total Compensation:
$165,000-$215,000 annually Total compensation includes base salary plus commission. Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, industry knowledge, and individual performance.
