Job Description

The Project Manager's responsibilities will include successfully managing projects from start to finish by ensuring all submittals, procedures, specifications, QA documents, and schedules are followed per the contract documents. They will ensure that all drawings are 100% accurate prior to any submittal to our customers. They will also go over all final drawings, prior to the start of fabrication, to ensure that there are no errors and that the practicality of the drawings is such as to ensure a successful build in the shop.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strong drawing comprehension. Examines engineering drawings of water control gates & hoists, assemblies, and fabrications to detect errors in design documents: Compares figures and lines on production drawing or diagram with production layout, examining angles, dimensions, bend allowances, and tolerances for accuracy. Determines practicality of design, material selection, available tooling, and fabrication process, applying knowledge of drafting and manufacturing methods. Reviews customer specifications and drawings to ensure project adherence and acceptance. Compiles, reviews, and submits customer submittal packages as required by the projects. Works with engineering, quality & fabrication personnel to submit and resolve RFI's. Confers with design personnel to resolve drawing and design discrepancies. Specialize in checking specific types of designs, such as mechanical assemblies. Study and review product pricing and change or modify pricing according to the current trends. Create and maintain customer and production schedules. Be the point of contact for assigned projects with Linita's customers. Assist the Chief Operating Officer and the Plant Manager in resolving customer problems, complaints, etc. Liaise between the shop, foreman, quality department, and engineering to resolve project issues. Perform other duties as may be required by the Chief Operating Officer of Linita. Meet Linita's budgets and schedules as required. Always maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction. Prioritize purchasing based upon lead times and project schedule requirements. Reliability and Attendance - begin work on time and conform to work hours and schedule. Work overtime when required to meet schedules and deadlines. Assist engineers with bidding process (pricing materials, machining, and transportation).
OTHER JOB DUTIES
Other duties and/or projects as assigned by a member of the Management Team. Technical Skills Minimum of 2 years' experience in fitting, welding, or Project Management/Detailing/Drafting in the steel fabrication industry.
Knowledge of:
Drafting practices. Fabrication and manufacturing practices, including methods of cutting, forming, and machining. Some proficiency in 2D Auto-cad. An Associate's Degree in Drafting is preferred but not mandatory. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to use Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word. Personal Characteristics Meticulous, methodical, high attention to detail, and extremely organized. Goal-Oriented. Able to work in a multitasking environment of a small company and maintain self-motivation. Positive and open-minded approach to problem-solving. Able to manage multiple projects, respond to rapid change, and organize, prioritize, and perform work with minimal supervision. Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
