Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Project Architect / Project Manager to join our team and take an active role in the successful delivery of commercial architectural projects. This position will oversee projects from the early design stages through construction, while coordinating consultants, clients, contractors, and internal production staff. The ideal candidate is organized, technically strong, comfortable managing multiple projects, and able to take ownership of day-to-day project responsibilities. The firm's Partners will remain actively involved in overall design direction, client relationships, and final quality review. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day progress of commercial architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration. Establish project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables and monitor progress throughout each phase. Coordinate the work of structural engineers, MEP consultants, civil engineers, and other project consultants. Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, consultants, municipalities, and permitting officials. Produce and oversee architectural construction documents utilizing AutoCAD. Work with drafting personnel to maintain accurate, coordinated, and complete drawing sets. Review drawings and specifications for technical accuracy, constructability, and coordination. Research and apply applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and other regulatory standards. Assemble and coordinate submissions for building permits and address comments received during the review process. Review contractor RFIs, shop drawings, product submittals, and other construction documentation. Attend job-site meetings and inspections as needed and prepare appropriate field documentation. Assist in identifying and resolving design and construction issues in collaboration with the project team. Maintain organized project records, including correspondence, meeting documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project information. Provide technical direction and day-to-day support to architectural drafting staff. Work directly with the firm's Partners to maintain project quality, design intent, budgets, schedules, and client expectations. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture. At least 3 years of professional architectural experience, preferably involving commercial projects. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple consultants and project deliverables. Solid understanding of architectural detailing, construction methods, and building systems. Working knowledge of applicable building codes and permitting requirements. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage several projects at once. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify problems, develop practical solutions, and follow projects through to completion. Comfortable working collaboratively with Partners, clients, consultants, contractors, and production staff.
