Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing underground utilities construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing underground utility and horizontal directional drilling projects from start to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects, coordinating field crews and subcontractors, reading plans and specifications, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Manager will work closely with field supervisors, drill crews, customers, subcontractors and office personnel to coordinate daily operations and keep projects moving forward. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, benefits, and mostly 4-day work weeks depending on project schedules. Responsibilities Manage underground utility construction projects from planning through completion Coordinate daily project activities with field crews, supervisors, subcontractors, and customers Review project plans, specifications, permits, and scope of work Coordinate scheduling of crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors Monitor project progress, production, costs, and schedules Communicate regularly with customers, inspectors, utility owners, and project stakeholders Identify potential project issues and develop solutions to keep work progressing Tracking purchase orders, and project documentation Ensure work is being completed according to plans, specifications, and project requirements Track utility locates (Paint), permits, traffic control, and other project requirements as needed Maintain accurate project records, daily reports, photographs, and documentation Conduct or participate in project meetings and job site visits Assist field personnel with resolving construction, scheduling, and logistical issues Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and company safety requirements Monitor job site safety and address unsafe conditions or practices Work with management to ensure projects meet production and profitability goals Assist with project closeout and final documentation Perform other project management and construction-related duties as needed Requirements Strong understanding of underground utility construction and installation Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and specifications Knowledge of horizontal directional drilling, trenching, excavation, and underground utility installation preferred Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work effectively with field crews, subcontractors, customers, and vendors Basic understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control Proficient with computers, email, Microsoft Office, and project management software Ability to travel to and visit active job sites as needed Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions Ability to read and understand project documentation and technical information Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Ability to commute to Carroll, OH required Job Type Full-time Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance
