Job Summary Advance Metroparks Toledo's core conservation mission by preparation and oversight of major maintenance and capital improvement projects in order to create world-class facilities and maintain existing Metroparks' infrastructure to the highest professional standards. This is a part-time role. Duties and Responsibilities Field Supervision and Project Oversight Direct all field contractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications. Order materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the project. Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, inspectors, and clients to complete each project on time Encourage safe work practices and resolves any site hazards that may occur. Maintain an organized job site to include the office and field work. Manage multiple, complex capital and maintenance projects from planning through closeout, ensuring high professional standards. Review and understand project designs, construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to develop, review, and execute project designs. Ensure design and technical decisions meet organizational standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site. Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage workloads of individual projects Construction Administration & Financial Management Oversee all construction administration activities, including site inspections, project documentation, contractor performance, and adherence to project specifications. Review and coordinate project schedules, submittals, shop drawings, scope adjustments to be sent for approval to the project manager. Review project budgets, departmental budgets, and cost controls. Oversee field changes and project closeout documentation. Ensure successful project closeout, including documentation, compliance, and final approvals. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication Coordinate and communicate with staff, departments, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Provide regular project status updates to internal and external stakeholders. Grants, Regulatory & Special Projects Manage grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding regulations. Provide onsight coordination for DOT-funded projects, including final approvals and documentation. Maintain and oversee internal processes to stay current and compliant with ODOT requirements of an LPA and ensure documentation to pass potential audits. Support asset management efforts, including facility condition assessments and coordination with insurance providers. Assist Natural Resources department with construction oversite of environmental and restoration projects. Leadership & Organizational Support Direct and oversee the work of field staff, contractors, and consultants. Foster a safe work environment for employees and contractors. Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Support cross-departmental initiatives including project development, cost estimating, and grant assistance.
