Midstate Electric (MEC) is a rural electric distribution cooperative located in beautiful La Pine, Oregon. Midstate Electric Cooperative (MEC) is seeking a highly organized, collaborative, and results-driven Project Manager to lead strategic, operational, grant, and utility-related projects from planning through completion. This position manages multiple projects simultaneously, coordinates cross-functional teams, and ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Key Responsiblities
- Define project scope, objectives, requirements, timelines, budgets, resources, and measures of success.
- Manage multiple projects and coordinate tasks, schedules, resources, and priorities with department managers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and key resource for strategic initiatives, grants, and utility project work plans.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments, contractors, vendors, consultants, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Develop project presentations, reports, dashboards, and status updates for staff and leadership.
- Ensure projects align with MEC's strategic goals and organizational priorities.
- Research and identify grant opportunities and coordinate grant applications with federal, state, city, and county agencies.
- Monitor project performance, establish metrics, identify risks and challenges, and implement solutions.
- Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote a collaborative, respectful, safety-focused work environment consistent with MEC policies and expectations.
Additional Information:
Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree, preferably in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or five years of utility experience related to construction and/or engineering. 2. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 3. Experience coordinating grant applications with government agencies. 4. Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of detailed work while meeting deadlines and balancing competing priorities. 5. Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills. 6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 7. Valid Oregon Driver's License.
Preferred:
1. Experience in the electric utility industry. 2. Knowledge of electric utility work order processes and accounting practices. 3. Project management certification and/or professional project management experience. 4. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and accomplishments may be considered.
