Our Ambler in-house panel shop allows custom control design/build manufacturing. We have been delivering reliable design of complex electrical systems for over 20 years and are a pioneer in the development of engineering and controls automation.Primary Duties Include:
Assist Project Manager with Clients, Business Development tasks Assist with preparing engineering proposals, fee estimates, RFP responses and additional service requests (ASRS). Evaluate inhouse and subcontractor proposals for compliance with in-house requirements and RFP requirements Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives, status, needs, value engineering, etc. Assist with management of project scopes, budgets, schedules and personnel Assist with managing multiple projects with varying team members Work with sub-consultant(s) to coordinate trades Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to keep workflow on track Keep the Project Manager informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations Coordination, scheduling and running of project meetings, taking and distributing minutes. Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures Plan and manage team goals, project schedules and new information Track construction milestones understanding critical path items from procurement and engineering that will effect construction Resource allocation for projects Attend job meetings & coordinate activities as required Direct project correspondence by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails Prepare and maintain project documentation including creating, updating, maintaining: project schedules, meeting minutes, estimates, progress reports, status reports, cost milestones, cashflows and project dashboard Project document control with RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, transmittals, etc. Manage project-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, properly filed and stored Responsible for tracking project earned value and profitability Prepare management reports for internal and external use Responsible for Project Management billing coordination with Accounting Department to include: Review of time & expense reports for accuracy Review subcontractor bills for approval Coordinating billing schedule with accounting department Assist with aged receivable collection and client correspondence Coordinating billing schedule with Accounting Department Assist with equipment procurement process to include submitting vendor RFQs, assembling bid tabulations, working with Engineers and Project Managers on populating bid tabulations, issuing vendor POs, tracking vendor deliverables, tracking equipment shipments and deliveries, updating Project Manager and Client with status. Facilitate, attend, and run vendor and subcontractor meetings Assist Project Managers with construction admin process, including, but not limited to RFIs, shop drawings, bulletins, etc. Process incoming shop drawings and RFI's, facilitate their review and return to the client. Attend construction meetings as needed Assemble and issue close out package to include record condition shop drawings, O&M, and warranty information. Assist with creating internal processes that facilitate successful projects from cradle to grave Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and develop solutions Assist marketing in updating marketing materials as it pertains to projects managed Attend training as requested to further enhance your duties Complete and submit weekly paperwork (e.g. Timesheets, Expense Reports, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned Required Skill & Experience BS in Engineering or Engineering Management One to five years of project management, engineering, and/or construction procurement experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of software Must have excellent time management skills and communication skills Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Outstanding initiative, well-organized and strong sense of responsibility Excellent computer knowledge and advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications are required Travel Occasional overnight stays and local day travel may be necessary. You will be responsible for providing your own transportation to and from the office and job sites. You will be reimbursed for business expenses such as tolls, parking and business-related mileage at a rate allowable by government standards. The expenses incurred traveling to and from the office are excluded from reimbursement.
