McCrossin, Inc. is an AISC Certified Steel Erector and full-service general contractor based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. For over 70 years, McCrossin has served the commercial and industrial construction markets throughout the Northeast, building a reputation on quality workmanship, competitive pricing, and reliable project delivery. Our project managers lead the work we are best known for: water and wastewater treatment facilities, below-grade process structures, industrial plants, and institutional and campus construction. We self-perform concrete, structural steel erection, and process piping, which means our project managers run real McCrossin crews and self-perform production, not just a schedule of subcontractors.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager owns full delivery of heavy industrial and municipal construction projects, from contract award through closeout. Along with the Superintendent, you will build and lead the project team, manage the schedule and budget, direct self-performed crews and subcontractors, and serve as the primary point of contact for owners and design professionals. This role suits a project manager who wants full ownership of a project's outcome, not just its paperwork. Project Managers here work side by side with superintendents and self-perform crews, and are expected to know the work well enough to solve problems in the field, not just track them in a spreadsheet.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the primary owner and design-team contact for assigned projects, managing expectations and communication throughout construction. Develop and maintain the project schedule, coordinating self-performed crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries to meet milestones. Own project financial performance, including budget tracking, cost forecasting, monthly cost-to-complete projections, and margin protection. Negotiate, issue, and manage subcontracts and purchase orders; resolve scope gaps and disputes as they arise. Direct project engineers and field superintendents; set priorities and hold the team accountable for schedule, cost, quality, and safety. Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings for technical accuracy and schedule impact. Identify, price, and negotiate change orders and claims; protect contract rights and margin on changed conditions. Lead project safety performance, including site safety planning, incident response, and enforcement of company safety standards. Manage owner billing, pay applications, and subcontractor payment approvals on schedule. Oversee quality control, including inspections, testing, and non-conformance resolution. Lead project closeout, including punch list completion, O&M turnover, final billing, and warranty administration. Conduct project financial and lessons-learned reviews with senior management. Mentor and develop project engineers as they progress toward project management roles.
