Job Description
The Utilities Project Manager is responsible for administering all project activities including planning, contract interpretation and compliance, logistical coordination (personnel, equipment, and material), budget analysis and cost control, customer and public relations, quality control, and job profitability for Brubacher. Will control multiple job sites simultaneously and provide management direction for multiple Pipe Supervisors working on water, sewer, gas, and other miscellaneous projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is familiar with all rules, regulations and policies related to jobsite safety. Actively promotes accident prevention and assists in enforcement of all rules and regulations.Planning:
Develops and maintains a logical, efficient, and integrated system of schedules, objectives, and logistics to bring assigned projects effectively and efficiently to completion on time and on or under budget. Work with field supervision to facilitate weekly project meetings to review safety, schedule, budget, and other needs.Takeoff Skills:
Able to perform underground utility, length, and area takeoff. Able to understand blue prints and cut sheets for gravity sewer.Contract Compliance:
Reviews, in detail, contracts of all assigned projects. Is aware of contract requirements, specifications, and plan details. Guides the field accordingly and ensures compliance with contract terms and conditions. Recognizes conflicts and resolves them expediently.Logistical Coordination:
Develops and assists in maintaining the most efficient project logistics. Will review and analyze initially the proposed project schedule and facilitate and maintain a perpetually evolving plan of review that effectively completes the project in a timely and profitable manner. Prepare project information book after the job is awarded.Project Cost Accounting:
Will review, analyze, and maintain complete familiarity with project cost-plus estimates. Maintains detailed knowledge of all applicable budget variances and develops strategies to maintain profitability with field accordingly. Will complete and approve all project billings. Facilitates all project completion cost projections monthly. Must initiate, approve, and monitor all project change order activity. Is constantly aware of budget deviations, documents them, and informs management of their existence along with corrective action taken in a timely matter.Customer/Public Relations:
Is the primary Brubacher contact on all assigned projects. Establishes and maintains an assertive role in such matters throughout the life of the project. Must address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and in a professional and courteous manner. Fosters and maintains positive relations with all municipal and regulatory agencies. Communicates with customers about their financial obligations. Provides input and recommendations to the Utilities General Manager, Director of Estimating & Project Management, Chief Financial Officer, and the Chief Operating Officer regarding the release of public statements about projects or Brubacher in general.Quality Control:
Must possess a high level of expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing program of quality control on assigned projects. Directs and fosters field Superintendents cooperation in carrying out an effective procedure of quality assurance to minimize costly rework.Personnel:
Offers input regarding personnel policies and procedures to ensure the ongoing development and supervision of Brubacher personnel. Will monitor and assist in the motivation of all employees by working closely with Supervisors and demonstrating an exemplary attitude. Works closely with the Utilities General Manager, Director of Field Operations and Human Resources in the conduct of employee evaluations. Supports consistent application of company policies and expectations. EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Three years experience as a Project Engineer with full responsibilities in and familiarity with an excavation/construction type of environment preferred. High school degree or GED is required. Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction Management is preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Requires 1 year of office experience utilizing Microsoft Office.Benefits
