Your Opportunity + Impact The Highway Senior Project Manager leads large, complex transportation design projects and multidisciplinary teams for PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, municipalities, and other transportation clients. This position is accountable for successful project delivery, client satisfaction, financial performance, staff development, and business growth. The Senior Project Manager manages multiple concurrent projects representing approximately $1.5 million or more in annual revenue while providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams and developing project managers. Key Responsibilities Leads multiple large and complex highway design projects, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and client satisfaction. Directs multidisciplinary project teams, establishes priorities, allocates resources, and resolves challenges to ensure successful project delivery. Manages project financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, scope changes, invoicing, and profitability. Maintains strong client relationships and serves as a trusted point of contact throughout project delivery. Establishes and maintains project quality expectations, ensuring accurate, coordinated, and timely deliverables. Leads and mentors project staff and developing project managers, providing opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility. Supports business development and project pursuits through client engagement, proposal development, scope preparation, statements of interest, and interview participation. Identifies project risks and opportunities early and collaborates with clients and project teams to develop effective, practical solutions.
Education and Experience Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant transportation engineering experience. Demonstrated experience successfully managing complex transportation design projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Licensure/Certification:
Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering projects for PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and/or municipal transportation clients. Strong project financial management and resource-planning skills. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop project teams. Strong client relationship and business development capabilities. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
