County Coordinator, Michigan Election Observation Project The Michigan Election Observation Project (MEOP) was founded in 2026 to increase trust and transparency in elections. MEOP is fiscally sponsored by The Carter Center. Beginning in 2020, The Carter Center began efforts to support good election administration in the United States, including expanding nonpartisan observation, bolstering dispute resolution, tracking disinformation and dangerous speech, contributing to electoral reform and accessibility, and promoting principles for trusted elections. MEOP will be advised by respected Michiganders, balanced across party affiliation and region to serve as members of an Advisory Board for the project. MEOP is seeking County Coordinators for 10 of the 15 counties where we will observe—Marquette, Muskegon, Genesee, Macomb, Oakland, St. Joseph, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Ottawa, Kent, Washtenaw, Leelanau, Antrim, Ingham, and Wayne—chosen to reflect Michigan's geographic, demographic, political, and administrative diversity.
