The Business Intelligence Developer create analytics content for end users and third parties who require Epic data. The Business Intelligence Developer is critical in transforming healthcare data into actionable insights through the development of dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Epic's reporting tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Caboodle, and related tools, along with a strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical workflows.SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED
Critical thinking and an analytical mind User-focused design and data visualization skills Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts Proficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics tools Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure, through training that occurs early in the implementation Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the data model through data model classes geared toward content areas Ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environmentEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, HIPPA) Analytics, SQL experience and developing in data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.) Experience in a hospital and/or clinic settingDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Safeguards and preserves the confidentiality of patient's protected health information in accordance with State and Federal (HIPAA) regulatory requirements, hospital, and departmental policies. 2. Ensures a safe patient environment and adherence to safety practices per policy. 3. With consideration to age, employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patient/significant other when administering care. 4. (Applies to management positions). 5. Analyzing non-Caboodle datasets to identify required data elements to be moved into Caboodle 6. Mapping non-Epic datasets to existing database structures within Caboodle 7. Designing and developing custom database structures within Caboodle as needed 8. Developing custom imports to move additional pieces of Epic data from Clarity to Caboodle 9. Developing custom import packages to move non-Epic data into Caboodle 10. Designing data models to meet organization-specific goals and use cases 11. Leading decisions around coding practices and version control 12. Configuring and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications, including: a. Reporting Workbench b. SlicerDicer c. Radar d. Cogito SQL 13. Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle 14. Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics 15. Modifying existing reports, as necessary 16. Distributing analytics content to data consumers 17. Reviewing peer reports for validity 18. Working with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers 19. Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records 20. Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments 21. Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determining how to implement the changes 22. Also responsible for building and maintaining: a. Cubes b. Extracts c. SlicerDicer custom filters d. Third-party BI tools e. Epic data in Caboodle 23. Provide timely on-site and remote support to end users, including after-hours support. 24.
