Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Equipment Operator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects. This role combines skilled heavy equipment operation with project oversight, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction machinery, utility work, and site management, with a passion for maintaining safety and quality throughout every phase of the project. Responsibilities Operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, loaders, water trucks, dozers, and skidsteers to perform excavation, grading, utility installation, and site preparation tasks. Manage daily project activities on-site, coordinating with team members and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of work scopes. Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety regulations. Oversee utility locating activities to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation begins, preventing damage or delays. Ensure compliance with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times. Supervise construction grading and utility work to meet project specifications and quality standards. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, safety inspections, and project progress reports. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, dozers, skidsteers and water trucks in a construction environment. Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures applicable to heavy equipment operation. Construction site experience with a focus on utility work, excavation, grading, and utility locating techniques. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety standards. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervising subcontractors. Construction experience involving water trucks, Caterpillar equipment, and other heavy machinery is highly desirable.
