SYSTEMTEC
is seeking a Operations Project Manager for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will lead the operational management of critical Medicaid technology platforms, overseeing teams responsible for claims, encounters, enrollment, payment processing, production support, and related system functions. The role will coordinate system operations, incident response, vendor activities, releases, and implementations while supporting the transition to modernized Medicaid systems. Required Qualifications of the
Operations Project Manager:
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies. Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or healthcare-related field; alternatively, 5+ years of equivalent experience in business/systems analysis or computer systems development/modification may substitute for the degree. At least 3 years of experience managing system operations and/or administrative program functions involving healthcare claims and/or encounter processing. 5+ years of project management experience overseeing technology implementations, system enhancements, or comparable initiatives. Experience managing production environments and coordinating support for business-critical healthcare systems. Demonstrated ability to manage incidents, escalations, issue resolution, and operational priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to participate in on-call and after-hours support for incidents, releases, and other operational needs. Strong communication and coordination skills for working with technical teams, vendors, security personnel, enterprise architecture groups, and business stakeholders. Ability to establish, monitor, and maintain operational procedures, service expectations, documentation, and performance standards. Preferred Skills/Experience of the
Operations Project Manager:
Experience managing operations for Medicaid Enterprise systems or comparable government healthcare technology environments. Understanding of the systems development lifecycle and technology implementation practices. Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, enrollment, claims, encounters, and MMIS-related processes. Experience using ticketing or service management platforms. Experience developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures for new or enhanced systems. AWS Cloud certifications are a plus. Responsibilities of the
Operations Project Manager:
Lead day-to-day operational oversight and support for Medicaid systems and related platforms, coordinating production support, helpdesk functions, interfaces/EDI, stakeholder monitoring, and vendor activities. Direct incident and issue management, including ticket tracking, prioritization, escalation, documentation, communication, and timely resolution of production-impacting issues. Coordinate system releases and implementations, including readiness activities, stakeholder communications, change planning, approval processes, and post-release monitoring. Identify operational risks and issues, coordinate mitigation strategies, and ensure decisions, actions, and outcomes are appropriately documented. Monitor service levels, security requirements, compliance findings, and operational commitments, working with internal teams and contracted partners to drive issues through resolution. Lead and support operational teams by assigning work, maintaining effective collaboration, promoting accountability, and fostering a professional and productive work environment.
