Job Description
The Resilience Center of Franklin County (RCFC), in partnership with the Rural Network to End Domestic Violence (RNEDV), has received funding from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health to launch Our Voice Project —a regional initiative that empowers rural teens to promote healthy relationships and prevent relationship violence in their schools and communities. The Our Voice Project Manager will play a central leadership role in developing and implementing this innovative youth-led initiative. Based at RCFC, this hybrid position combines remote work with regular travel throughout western and north-central Massachusetts, including school visits, community meetings, training sessions, and occasional work from the RCFC offices in Greenfield and Orange. Working collaboratively with RNEDV partners, schools, and community organizations, the Manager will recruit approximately 35 teens from across the region to serve on the Our Voice Teen Task Force. The Manager will facilitate trainings on healthy relationships, relationship violence prevention, leadership development, and community organizing; coach teens as they design and implement school-based prevention initiatives; cultivate strong partnerships with educators and community stakeholders; and support paid teen interns who will serve in leadership roles. The Manager will also collaborate with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office and other regional partners and will help plan a regional youth summit during the second year of the project to showcase student leadership, accomplishments, and community impact. Primary Responsibilities The Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Recruit and engage teen participants in collaboration with RNEDV partners and participating schools.
- Plan and facilitate engaging trainings, leadership development activities, and Teen Task Force meetings in both virtual and in-person settings.
- Build strong working relationships with school administrators, faculty, and staff to successfully implement the Our Voice Project.
- Coach and support teens as they develop, implement, and sustain youth-led initiatives that promote healthy relationships and prevent relationship violence.
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment that encourages participation from youth of diverse backgrounds, identities, cultures, abilities, and lived experiences.
- Visit participating schools and communities to provide technical assistance and ongoing support for student-led projects.
- Collaborate with RNEDV members to ensure alignment between the Our Voice Project and broader regional prevention efforts.
- Research evidence-informed practices in youth relationship violence prevention from Massachusetts and across the country to inform teen initiatives.
- Represent the project through presentations, community meetings, and partnership-building activities with stakeholders across the region.
- Collaborate with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office and other partners to support teen interns serving in leadership roles.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of a regional youth summit during the second year of the task force.
- Develop and maintain project communications, including social media, outreach materials, and other communication tools.
- Assist with and manage project evaluation, data collection, grant reporting, and other administrative responsibilities, and attend grant management meetings.
- Manage volunteers and interns related to the Our Voices project.
Preferred qualifications include:
- At least two years of experience working in intimate partner violence prevention, teen dating violence prevention, youth development, public health, education, social work, or a closely related field, and/or equivalent lived experience that informs this work.
- Knowledge of healthy relationship education, relationship violence prevention, trauma-informed practice, positive youth development, and public health prevention approaches.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation
- Experience planning, implementing, or coordinating school-based or community-based initiatives.
- Experience facilitating groups, trainings, or youth leadership programs.
- Experience working in or with rural communities and an appreciation for the strengths and challenges unique to rural settings.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with teens and support youth leadership, civic engagement, and shared decision-making.
- Experience collaborating effectively with schools, community organizations, and multidisciplinary partners.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, with experience building relationships across diverse racial, cultural, economic, geographic, religious, LGBTQIA+, disability, and other marginalized communities.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and social media platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and lived experience.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout western and north-central Massachusetts for school visits, meetings, training sessions, and community events.
