Job Description
Position:
Project Coordinator - Packaging Industry Berkley is currently seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to support our Project Management Team and enhance our commitment to exceptional customer service. This is a Hybrid position located in our Lakewood, CA office. At Berkley, we cultivate a dynamic, youthful, and entrepreneurial work environment. The project coordinator will play a pivotal role in our operations, tasked with entering customer and vendor purchase orders (POs) into our systems, generating bills of material, managing the shipment of materials to customers and partners, and invoicing customer orders. A deep understanding of manufacturing and distribution environments is essential, as the candidate will handle complex, multicomponent vendor and customer shipments. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and collaborating closely with Project Managers, the ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational, creative management, and multitasking abilities. At times, you will take charge in ambiguous situations to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of inbound and outbound shipments.Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in Project Kickoff Meetings, providing valuable insights and take directives from the Project Manager/Sales Rep.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager/Sales Rep to identify project specifics including objectives, timelines, locations, and methodologies.
- Create customer and vendor orders, and item receipts into the system.
- Invoice request customer orders with precision and efficiency.
- Following up with vendors to confirm PO receipt and delivery dates.
- Maintain comprehensive project documents in a cloud-based filing system.
- Develop and update profitability reports for each project, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Strategize and monitor inbound shipments to facilitate timely production schedules.
- Maintain customer inventory reports up to date and in a timely manner.
- Enforce company policies for the timing of paperwork receipt and swiftly address any receiving or inventory issues.
- Communicate damages and/or shipment issues, process vendor returns and obtain freight quotes for outbound shipping.
- Plan and track shipments of final products according to customer requirements, validating Bills of Lading from carriers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business Analytics preferred.
- 1 year of experience in customer service or logistics management preferred.
- Quick learner with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to various challenges.
- Capacity to work with minimal supervision and track multiple processes.
- Proficiency in computer operations with a working knowledge of Business Central / Microsoft Dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
