Job Title:
Program Manager - Industrial Automation and Systems Integration Job Description This role leads complex industrial and automation projects from planning through commissioning, ensuring that cross-functional workstreams stay aligned, on schedule, and fully documented. You will coordinate technical and operational stakeholders, manage workstream governance, and provide clear visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies across manufacturing, industrial operations, or capital deployment programs. Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and facilitate all workstream working sessions to keep project activities aligned and on track. Manage action items, decisions, dependencies, and open issues across a cross-functional team and ensure timely follow-up. Build and maintain a detailed work plan, including schedule planning, milestones, and a comprehensive milestone tracker. Develop and update a deliverable status dashboard that clearly communicates progress and outstanding items. Draft deliverable documents and structured outputs for technical review by engineering and operations stakeholders. Prepare and present routine workstream status updates in program-level reviews, clearly summarizing progress, issues, and next steps. Proactively identify risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies, and drive mitigation plans to resolution. Maintain visual status indicators (such as red/green status), risks, and countermeasures within the program's operating rhythm. Coordinate activities related to system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and commissioning of automated and industrial equipment. Collaborate closely with project engineering, automation engineering, and controls teams to ensure integrated project execution. Support planning and oversight for industrial controls, PLC-based systems, robotic systems, and automated equipment throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Skills 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or capital deployment programs. Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional projects involving industrial equipment, automation, or system integration. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain detailed project schedules, work plans, milestone trackers, and status dashboards. Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), factory acceptance, and related validation activities. Hands-on exposure to system integration and system integration testing in an industrial or automation environment. Familiarity with industrial controls and PLC-based control systems. Experience working with automated equipment, robotics, robotic systems, or industrial machinery. Strong skills in schedule planning and coordination across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. Ability to prepare and present clear, structured status updates and technical documentation for review. Capability to identify and manage project risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies in a structured way. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background or experience in mechanical engineering, project engineering, or automation engineering. Experience with commissioning activities for industrial or automated systems. Familiarity with control systems and industrial equipment used in manufacturing or capital deployment programs. Exposure to SolidWorks or similar mechanical design tools. Experience working within an operating rhythm that uses visual status indicators (such as red/green) for program health. Comfort working with cross-functional teams that include engineering, operations, and technical specialists. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
