This role owns the project schedule, budget, customer communication, and coordination across engineering, operations, purchasing, accounting, and other internal teams. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects at once, work independently with limited direction, and remain composed while navigating changing priorities and demanding customer expectations. Experience in rotating equipment, turbomachinery, industrial repair, or a similar manufacturing environment is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining ownership of schedules, budgets, deliverables, customer expectations, and overall project execution. Coordinate project requirements across engineering, drafting, operations, purchasing, accounting, sales, vendors, and customers to keep work moving on schedule. Track project costs, schedules, work orders, purchasing activity, invoicing requirements, progress payments, and projected costs to completion. Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the project, providing proactive status updates, coordinating deliverables and witness points, and resolving issues professionally. Anticipate project risks, changing priorities, and resource needs while independently driving projects through multiple facilities and internal business groups.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably within manufacturing, rotating equipment, industrial repair, aftermarket service, or a closely related technical environment. Associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; an engineering background is preferred but strong hands-on industry experience may also be considered. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, including schedules, budgets, cost-to-complete estimates, customer communication, and competing priorities. Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, time-management, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, think on your feet, anticipate project needs, take ownership, and communicate proactively without requiring close supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with ERP or job-management systems is preferred. Ability to remain professional and effective in a fast-paced environment where priorities and schedules may change. Must be authorized to work in the United States, able to pass applicable drug/alcohol screening and background checks, and able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with rotating equipment, turbomachinery, compressors, steam equipment, or industrial aftermarket repair Hands-on experience working within manufacturing or repair-shop operations Engineering education or technical background Experience managing projects ranging from short-cycle work to longer-term programs Experience supporting multiple facilities or business units PMP certification is welcome but not required; practical project leadership, industry knowledge, judgment, and communication skills are more important for this role
