Residential Sales and Project Manager CertaPro Painters | Full time | Field based Role Overview CertaPro Painters is looking for a confident, organized, and relationship-driven Residential Sales and Project Manager to help homeowners improve and protect their homes. This is not a desk-based sales position. You will meet with homeowners, understand their goals, prepare and present detailed painting proposals, and earn their business. Once a project is sold, you will schedule the work, assign the right painting crew, communicate with the customer, and oversee the project through completion and payment. The right person is persuasive without being pushy, highly responsive, comfortable managing several projects at once, and willing to take ownership when challenges arise. You should enjoy working with customers, leading independent painting crews, solving problems, and being accountable for measurable results. Inspect each project carefully and prepare accurate, detailed proposals that clearly define the scope of work. Take and include photos that help customers, painters, and office staff understand project details and areas ofconcern. Present proposals professionally and, whenever possible, complete and present the estimate during the initialappointment. Communicate confidently, directly, and promptly throughout the sales process. Follow up consistently with prospective customers until they book the project or make a final decision. Coordinate color-consultation services when needed. Ask satisfied customers for referrals and online reviews. Maintain accurate notes, photos, proposals, and customer information in the company CRM. Project and Production Management Schedule sold projects and assign qualified painting crews based on project needs and availability. Conduct a complete handoff so the crew understands the scope, customer expectations, schedule, site conditions,and potential challenges before work begins. Set clear expectations with customers regarding scheduling, communication, payment, and the productionprocess. Monitor active projects and remain accountable for a smooth customer experience from sale throughcompletion. Keep project schedules, crew assignments, start dates, and job records accurate and current. Confirm required deposits, change orders, additional charges, final sign-offs, and payments are properlydocumented and communicated to the office. Address customer concerns, crew questions, production challenges, and pricing issues quickly and professionally. Ensure each project is completed, documented, signed off, and ready for final collection. Obtain before-and-after photos for company marketing and project records. Help ensure crews maintain a professional appearance, follow company processes, and meet applicable safety and lead-certification requirements. Crew Leadership and Business Development Build positive, professional relationships with our independent Painting Partners. Provide crews with clear direction, complete information, and timely support. Help recruit and develop additional Painting Partners as production needs grow. Set and uphold expectations for workmanship, communication, professionalism, cleanliness, and customer care. Ensure company lawn signs and other approved neighborhood-marketing materials are used at active projectswhen appropriate. Participate in home shows, networking groups, and other company-sponsored marketing activities. Develop referral relationships and identify opportunities to generate business within the assigned territory. Measures of Success Revenue booked and produced Estimate-to-sale closing rate Lead-to-estimate conversion, including slippage Average job size Customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score Online reviews and word-of-mouth referrals Gross margin and accurate job costing Schedule accuracy, on-time project starts, complete job documentation, sign-offs, and collections Strong, dependable relationships with Painting Partners Qualifications No painting or paint-company experience is required. We provide training on our services, estimatingprocess, and systems. Previous sales experience is preferred. Construction, contracting, or home-services experience is a plus. Spanish-language ability is a plus. Confidence presenting recommendations and asking for the sale. Strong organization, scheduling, follow-through, and time-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Sound judgment and the ability to resolve conflict calmly and professionally. Comfort managing multiple customers, crews, schedules, and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to inspect homes and job sites, take measurements and photos, and discuss project details clearly. Comfort learning and consistently using CRM, estimating, scheduling, email, and mobile technology. Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work independently while contributing to a team. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel throughout the assigned local service area. Schedule and Work Environment This is a full-time, field-based position. Most work takes place at customers' homes and active project sites throughout the assigned territory, with additional administrative work completed remotely or from the office. The schedule must remain flexible enough to accommodate customer appointments, project starts, crew needs, home shows, and occasional evening or weekend commitments. $62,917.74 - $110,000.00 per year
