ABOUT THE POSITION
Senior Highway Roadway Project Manager - Hybrid - Watertown, MA VHB's Highway/Roadway Group is deeply engaged in transformative development and infrastructure projects across New England, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and genuine work-life balance. As a Senior Highway Roadway Project Manager, you'll lead multidisciplinary transportation engineering projects—including complex roadways, bikeways, and utility design—while knowing that you have the full backing of an engaged and accessible leadership team. You'll oversee traffic engineering, stormwater management, drainage, temporary traffic control, traffic signals, construction observation, cost estimating, and construction administration on large, challenging projects that benefit from your experience and judgment rather than overburdening you with unsustainable expectations. Responsibilities:
Managing large multi-disciplinary highway reconstruction projects, both traditional bid-build and alternate delivery (Design-Build, PPP, etc.) Working with Contractors for the delivery of Design-Build projects. Training / mentoring junior staff in various aspects of highway design. Assisting with the production and delivering transportation projects through the construction administration phase Pre-design project planning and financial management Design of highways and roads including the development of geometric layout, grading, and drainage, working with utilities, and environmental permitting Development of technical design and specification documents
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering required. Masters degree preferred 11-15+ years' experience PE licensed. Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Watertown, MA is $150,000-200,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
