Role:
The Senior Project Manager leads highly visible client implementation projects supporting the planning, development and implementation of project efforts that utilize information technology solutions in a fast-paced environment. Projects are typically client implementation projects that span a degree of size and complexity and allow the Senior Project Manager to work with a variety of clients within the LegalTech industry. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with a team of resources across the company to deliver assigned initiatives on time and within budget. What will you do in this role? Lead the day-to-day activities for one or more delivery teams, ensure alignment to software delivery processes/best practices. Work with management to develop, establish and maintain project management standards and procedures Prepare for and facilitate project related meetings including project kickoff presentations, discovery session(s), client status meetings, In-Flight Review meetings/PMO meetings, and support transitions Develop and manage all project artifacts: kickoff and discovery slides, implementation plans (including risks), project financials, project notebooks, change/enhancement requests, meeting minutes, project health, client-facing project status and financial reports Contribute to the development of detailed project plans; identifying resource needs to support delivery efforts and coordinating the daily activities of the development teams in alignment with project plans. Lead technical delivery teams across multiple projects of various complexities. Other responsibilities include the refinement of requirements, project coordination, development of plans and schedules, resource planning and estimation, and project maintenance. Once a project is set in motion, communicate major milestones, identify potential project risks, provide continuing direction to the delivery teams and communicate project status regularly. Throughout the project lifecycle, obtain feedback to ensure that project efforts meet customer expectations for contracted time, cost, and performance. Learn about the legal industry and the products being implemented; be conversational on topics pertaining to industry business processes. Be able to consult on project management, user adoption, and change management best practices, guiding legal teams through their (possibly first) implementation experience. Provide subject matter expert (SME) consultation on complex projects. Other duties as assigned. What do you need to succeed in this role? PMP certification preferred 7 years of IT work experience (software implementation), including 5+ years of project management experience Knowledge of project management methodologies (SDLC, Waterfall, Iterative, Agile) Experience leading projects greater than $100,000 or 100 users Experience leading several projects at a time Ability to mentor junior team members In-depth understanding of software engineering and application development, and software lifecycle. Recent client-facing experience Software power user. Experience with Jira, Smartsheet, or other project management tools. Ability to quickly learn technologies and product functionality Adept at context switching and making clear paths forward in complex situations.
